A rare small size oak case weather station by famous makers; Negretti & Zambra London makers to her Majesty. ca.1870

The oak case contains a clock, with the name on the silvered engraved dial, that has an eight-day fusee movement which is mechanically linked to a revolving drum that records the fluctuations in the barometric pressure on a paper record chart.

This is also linked to an aneroid barometer that shows the barometric pressure and, in the center, just below the revolving drum is a maximum and minimum alcohol mercury thermometer.

The oak case has a glazed door to the front which falls forward when unlocked to give access to wind the clock and change the recording chart. On the back of the case brass plaque with name of the company who purchased this in 1877. West Cannock Collier Company Limited 1877
